The "Find My Mouse" feature is currently designed to locate the cursor by creating a spotlight effect but I found this feature to be especially useful for improving focus while reading because of how the contrast between the background and spotlight work, I think the following enhancements can improve its usability for reading focus even further, especially for users like me who are neurodivergent or have ADHD:
Add an option to change the spotlight shape to a rectangle. This would align with how we read line by line, making it more effective for focusing on text.
Allow hiding the mouse cursor while keeping the spotlight active.
Provide an option to keep the spotlight active until manually turned off or to set a timer for how long it stays visible, even after the mouse stops moving.
These changes can really help direct their attention better, improving focus while reading.
Scenario when this would be used?
This can be useful for individuals who need help focusing on specific areas of the screen, such as when reading or analyzing content. It’s particularly useful for neurodivergent users or those with ADHD who benefit from visual cues that reduce distractions. Enhancing "Find My Mouse" to support these use cases would expand its functionality and accessibility.
I’ve found the current feature immensely helpful for reading and maintaining focus due to its color contrast between the spotlight and background. Enhancements like rectangular shapes and persistent spotlight modes would make this tool even better.
