Using newer Gazebo versions with AirSim + ArduPilot #5046

Hello everyone,

I’m working on integrating a Gazebo-based drone model with AirSim, following the document https://microsoft.github.io/AirSim/gazebo_drone/. That project currently relies on Gazebo 9 as its flight dynamics model (FDM) source while using AirSim for environmental sensing.

My key questions:

  1. Has anyone successfully used Ignition Gazebo (Garden or Harmonic) with the AirSim–GazeboDrone integration?
  2. If not, is it feasible to adapt the existing plugin, or is there an alternative route someone would recommend?
  3. Are there known limitations that might block compatibility (e.g. plugin interface differences, API changes, etc.)?
    Looking forward to hearing about your experiences or suggestions!
