button_card_templates folder
popup folder
themes folder
sidebar.yaml

Just in case you haven't found the answer yet 🙃 They all go in the CONFIG folder

So you would have:

config -> ui-lovelace.yaml
config -> sidebar.yaml
config -> themes (Folder) -> ...
config -> button_card_templates (Folder) -> ...
config -> popup (Folder) -> ...

But I am still confused sometimes in some files in found /local/ where is the start path?

I installed on a VM my root folder is this

/homeassistant

Then I have

/homeassistant/themes
/homeassistant/www

and so on

So I have no config folder or maybe this in root in my situation ?

so I tried now to get a background for a theme...

About config folder...I think that is the right folder in your case

Static files that the browser must fetch (images, JS, CSS) must live in the www folder so Home Assistant serves them as /local/...

For example this is my background code

  card-mod-root: |
    #view {
      background: url('/local/backgrounds/background.png');
      background-size: cover;
    }

and file is found in www\backgrounds\background.png

Based on your code you can try the following.
background-image: "url('/local/backgrounds/2151682893.jpg?v=10')"

the browser will request /local/backgrounds/2151682893.jpg and HA will serve the file from <config_dir>/www/backgrounds/2151682893.jpg.

On your VM (where your config root is /homeassistant) put the file here:

/homeassistant/www/backgrounds/2151682893.jpg

About the config folder: yes, that looks like the right folder on your VM.

Thanks for your detail answer

The only thing I don’t understand that all themes when I install over hacs or in the folder /homeassistent/themes

But when you say all static files must be under /www/ why isn’t there the theme folder 🤭😁
