It would be neat if users could create a story. A story contains any number of public statuses, posted by any user. A story has a URL and is displayed as a thread.

I love that the social media landscape has evolved so much since I created this issue that "stories" has a new, entirely incorrect meaning.

I would love this, my use case being that I'm building a bridge from other social platforms, and I failed to find an appropriate way to replicate content from stories

I second that. I miss this in Mastodon as I want to migrate from IG and I post stories there way more than pictures/reels.
