Communication: Messages disappear after sorting search results

Describe the bug

When using the search bar, after changing the sorting (as seen in the video), the messages disappear. Sometimes, it happens immediately, sometimes after 3-4 times reapplying the filter.
When first encountering this issue, it happened after applying the filter once. When trying to reproduce it, I had to reapply the filter a few times after the messages disappeared. After reloading the page or changing to another communication tab and back, the were shown again.

To Reproduce

1. Go to the communication section of a course
2. Search for a word or phrase
3. Apply the filter - if the messages don't appear immediately, reapply it a few times.

Expected behavior

The messages don't disappear.
