Inpainting Denoising Strength

I am using the latest inpainting and have noticed an important setting - "denoising strength" seems absent (I assume this is the "variation" from upscaling tab?)

When inpainting an area, it seems to ignore whatever is in the area and inpaint from scratch - this means fine tuning of details while retaining the original basic image using inpainting is not possible. For example, if you try to 'help' Fooocus draw something that it can't draw by drawing a guide shape or photoshopping an object in to the picture, then ask it to inpaint that area to make it fit in with the rest of the picture, it overwrites it all and ignores your helpful shapes/photoshopping.

Could this setting be usable in the inpainting tab somewhere, please? Or is it already there somewhere?
