I had a feeling this was coming. I do want to thank you @mashb1t for all the hard work you put into Fooocus lately. It has been great trying to keep up with your changes especially the last few months. Good luck and will see you around. And I do hope that @lllyasviel does comes back and add support for future models once things are better supported since I think Fooocus is still the best UI for SDXL. |

Thanks for all the good work! Fooocus quite mature now and endless race for "new features" seems unneсessary. Perfect time for life-work rebalance. imho, Flux certainly will benefit more as separate dedicated product - build around new practices, new gradio, etc etc, from ground up. Let`s hope @lllyasviel will find it interesting to make some Fluuuxus eventually :) |

Manuel, I really appreciate the incredible amount of work you have put into Fooocus, not only in programming but in answering countless and often repetitive questions, on a daily basis! 😏 I can appreciate that you need to take your life in other directions at this point, and that is a good thing too! Nonetheless, this is a sad day and you will be greatly missed! |

I'm a bit like the 50-year-old poster above (and also from the same part of the UK it appears) except I'm a 70-year-old man who now has something new to occupy his mind, and who (apparently) still enjoys learning new things. Thanks for all you do/have done, and for the fun I've had, not only making images but also releasing a few models to the community. Not bad for someone who came to this as a complete noob 9 months ago. Thanks again. |

Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into making Fooocus a more stable and updated program. I use both Fooocus and Forge (both by the same developer) on almost a daily basis and still enjoy working with them. I know that Flux and SD3.5 are the new kids on the block, but it would be a long time before there would be the huge variety of SDXL checkpoints, Lora's and other add-ons available out there. SDXL does everything I need of it and I really wouldn't want to invest in mega powerful (and expensive) GPU's in the future. Fooocus has allowed ordinary folks to 'get their foot in the door' of self hosted generative AI systems. It still works well and I'll still be keeping it in use. |

Hey folks,
the last 3/4 year has been a blast and we've made quite some progress in developing Fooocus together.
After joining as contributor in October last year, taking over the project in January as single maintainer with a massive cleanup, and countless hours answering discussions and solving issues it's time now to move on.
Sadly i don't have the capacity anymore to develop new features and answer questions of the community, as there's just a lot going on in my private and work life. The next free slot for development would be November and 3 months are almost an eternity, given how fast the topic of AI is moving forward.
Fooocus is now practically bug-free (knock on wood) and a "complete project", meaning it's very good at what it is and in what it can do, which is to be an easy-to-use SDXL interface with capabilities for expert users.
Recap
We've had quite a journey from 2.1.865 to v2.5.4 (released just a few minutes ago).
170 closed PRs, 20 new PRs (mostly translations for other language)
397 closed issues, 40 open issues (mostly feature requests)
Some of the highlights were:
Future development
Starting today, the project is back in @lllyasviel's hands, who hopefully hasn't forgotten about coming back after the release of SD3 (see #2154 (comment)) wink wink ;)
You've already noticed the elephant in the room - Flux (and SD3) - and have requested support for these multiple times. In my opinion, Fooocus isn't the right tool to add support for these just yet, as there are so many unsupported features for these models, as you can see in this comment.
I think it would be easier to start over from scratch than to implement them into Fooocus, but this is open for debate and to be handled by the future maintainers.
