bStats collects data about a plugin and visualizes them for plugin owners and people like me who are genuinely interested in the usage of plugins.

I guess it's useful for targeting the server admins downloading OpenInv (i.e. maybe there are lots of servers using OpenInv in France and French should be added as a language) but it feels like most of the info is just there to help plugin developers pump up their download numbers by appealing to a certain audience.

bStats tells me that 14% of servers are running MC 1.8, but what's their average player count? If only 1% of the player base (which currently appears to be 1:1 with server base on average) is actually using the 14% of servers, I'm bloating the plugin with an outdated version to try to net that server market when the majority of those servers are just sitting empty. How many of the servers in France are actually French language? OVH is a pretty large host, I'm sure that the French and Canadian numbers are inflated by their existence.
No history for graphs over time - I can't check what the market share trend is. Obviously older versions' shares are going down, but how fast? Am I justified in dropping support for an older version now or should I wait? Should I consider re-adding an old version because its market share isn't dropping as expected?

You get the idea. The graphs paint a pretty picture, but they don't focus on areas I'm interested in. Frankly, a lot of this ties in heavily with the part where I get up on my soapbox and tell everyone how this is a hobby for me and I really don't care about the numbers.

Other than padding my ego reminding me that many others use this amidst the few times I get some bad reviews or feel bogged down with support requests, I find it very useful to see what config options/features are used.
