How to compose linkerd monitoring

I'm playing around with how to compose everything related to the service mesh and monitoring exactly. I'm still learning DevOps so best practices aren't my forte.

Basically trying to get linkerd, grafana, prometheus, and loki working properly with a good set of starting dashboards and fairly minimal configuration.

Do you think it would be more effective to use linkerd-viz for grafana and prometheus, then setup kube-prometheus-stack and loki-stack pointing to it? I'm never sure how to compose all these inter operable tools together.
