There's a gatsby-source-figma plugin — this issue is for research into how we could use it. Some ideas:

  1. replace the need to reference images in documentation (Lexicon, Blueprints) — reference the figma node instead
  2. embed figma files in blog posts
  3. embed figma prototypes in case studies

thoughts / ideas welcome!

Have you tried it locally @plhnk ?
We would like to see an example of what this is able to make and how it looks like.

I played I while ago with something similar and I only got a frame that had zoom and pan navigation and I didn't like that outcome.

The best I can do right now is this

This would allow us to remove many images :). But we should wait for @drakonux to be back and make a decision.

this is cool — so you're embedding an iframe w/a node id? Is there any way to query the contents of the node, and get a PNG of it?

I just took the "Embedded code" option from share modal

The answer to your question is "I'm not sure". As far as I know you can browse an entire project json and get very deep. I don't see any specific function to export as PNG
