When opening a new buffer, the default behaviour of use-hard-newlines is to propose to convert certain newlines to hard newlines automatically. However, these newlines are not shown at first, because messages-are-flowing-use-and-mark-hard-newlines does not run messages-are-flowing--mark-hard-newlines. This is confusing, because no confirmation of the automatic conversion to hard newlines is shown tot he user.
