Error loading tokens / aliases / parsing config #4

I installed plaid-cli and set these env vars:

PLAID_SECRET=<secret>
PLAID_CLIENT_ID=<my client ID>
PLAID_ENVIRONMENT=development

Running:

 ~  plaid-cli link
Error loading tokens from /Users/clete2/.plaid-cli/data/tokens.json. Assuming empty tokens. Error: unexpected end of JSON input
Error loading aliases from /Users/clete2/.plaid-cli/data/aliases.json. Assuming empty tokens. Error: unexpected end of JSON input
While parsing config: (2, 12): no value can start with Q

Tried rm -rf ~/.plaid-cli but it doesn't help.

tokens.json and aliases.json are both empty files.
