Koii Global Bootcamp

The Koii Global program is designed to onboard developers with minimal experience in web3 and teach them how to build on Koii's distributed cloud.

The workshop series has four lessons, each designed to help build skills that will be used to build distributed apps on Cloud2.

1. Cryptography 101

Understand the core cryptographic primatives that web3 is built on, and deploy your first token.

2. Basic Distributed App Deployment

Build your first app on Koii, a Low-Fi DOS Game!

3. Mechanism Design and Tokenized Payments

Build a distributed web crawler and pay with your new token from Lesson 1, then deploy to thousands of Koii Nodes.

Setup and Environment

1. VisualStudio Code

• Scroll down to find the installer for your OS (Windows, Mac, or Linux)

2. Node.js Version 20

• We recommend you use the prebuilt-installer.
• Select "v20.18.1 (LTS) for your OS (Windows, Mac, or Linux)

3. Git

• Select the download link for your OS and follow the instructions.
• Note: For Mac we recommend installing with Brew.

4. (Optional, Recommended)Yarn

• On Mac run sudo npm install --global yarn
• On Windows:
  • Launch the "Command Prompt" as administrator
  • Run npm install --global yarn
  • If you are using Power Shell (i.e. PS) then you'll need to go into your settings and find "Allow local PowerShell scripts to run without being signed", and set it to "On"

5. Download the Koii Desktop Node

6. Clone the Koii Global Curriculum Github Repo

• In your VS Code Terminal run "git clone https://github.com/koii-network/global.git"
