It would be great if there would be available scripts which could take some electro-magnetic (EM) techfile from the PDK and could create an .xs file. There are multiple EM simulation tools, but a few prevalent could be implemented. Some examples: Sonnet, ADS, Momentum, EMX, HFSS, or Axiem, which not belongs to Cadence.
Though not EM simulator, but GDS3D technology description could be converted.
I wanted to create a cross-section from my layout, but the starting cost of this tool, i.e. creating the technology file by myself, just does not justify its usage for my this single occasion.
