There's currently a name conflict with Kusto Query Language, and I believe that's what GitHub's currently .kql support actually highlights.

I think that would be good, it wouldn't even need to be moved far. Even KDL-QL or simillar could work.

How about KPath, like XML's XPath?

kpath seems to be a math thing, but there’s only 11 hits on GitHub for .kpath

I also thought of suggesting .kpl but that has well over a thousand hits, including what seems to be an actual programming language

We could also use .kpe as the extension, for KDL Path Expression which is nice and short and has exactly one hit on GitHub
