No factories, bunker or large ships showing

Using the default SDL windows package I got no images/meshes of factories, bunkers nor space ships... just large "?" signs

Could be related to #3 ?

You may not have any meshes in your install. I pulled mine from the old download, since this repo doesn't seem to have the .obj files. The old download can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gearhead2/files/gearhead2/0.628/, all you need to do is copy over the mesh folder.
