Write a guide on how to sync Anki cards #64
Comments
@juanj The beta expired again, I can't make cards TT Will Anki support be added into the main app soon? |
@juanj is the Anki guide all that's needed before Anki support can be added into the non-beta version of the app? If so, I would be happy to help out and write it myself if you're too busy. The beta in test flight expired a while back and I have been unable to use the app for mining ever since then. Please! |
Hey @JoshuaRamey, I have refreshed the TestFlight build, you should be able to keep using it. Yes, this is what is holding off this feature. I have been postponing it too much 😅. I will try to get to it this week. But if you want to start writing it, I will be more than happy to accept your help. |
Hi @juanj I sat down and took an attempt at writing a guide, but when I referenced your comment from the previous issue all of the information was there. How about just copy/pasting that info? Also the testflight build is about to expire again. |
@juanj is this project abandoned? |
I guess it's abandoned :( |
@juanj hello? |
@JoshuaRamey In case the project really is abandoned, how viable do you think creating a fork is? I think getting mining on iOS would be quite a useful thing. |
@Axarva I think it would be quite viable, you should do it if you have the ability. It's a shame this app was abandoned. |
Hey, just wanted to let you guys know that I finally have some time to work on this project again, and will try to move it forward. For now, the first priority will be getting an updated build including the Anki sync code to the AppStore. If you guys have suggestions or improvements, feel free to create some issues. |
@juanj Glad to have you back. I’d love to contribute to the project (I’m a student so not financially, but would love to help with the code. I’ll mess around with the code on my local machine, please feel free to designate minor tasks to me in the meantime. |
@juanj wow, this is exciting! I will be looking forward to it! In the meantime I will consider other possible improvements. |
Hey all, Just popping in to let you know that I made a working beta fork for sideloading with the Anki connect working and a little setup guide in the readme. I'm not a software dev usually and don't have crazy time to dump into this project so their might be some issues, but for those who would really benefit from having the extra features, it's there for you! Hopefully OP can come back with some time to finalize everything and push an official update out to the appstore version, but with all of Apple's restrictions and roadblocks, I really wouldn't blame them if we never got that// |
Updated the fork to have proper dictionary import as well as clear some things up in the ReadMe/// Should provide sufficient guide for now. Cheers all! |
Configuring Anki-Connect requires a couple of steps in both Anki and Kantan Manga.
This process can be a little confusion for nontechnical users. It will be great to have a help page inside the app, where the users can follow a step-by-step guide on how to configure it.
