Extra temporär eine neue Kategorie anzulegen, die die anderen Kategorien vereint, scheint mir sehr umständlich zu sein.

Gibt es ein Feature eine E-Mail an mehrere Kategorien zu mailen?

I think, you should use mailing list in the Thunderbird. It is more like tags.

@TheMattStiles It's very easy to select (within the contacts sidebar at the compose window) some categories one by one and to add them to the recipients list(s) with the one-click-actions at the bottom. I think a solution for your scenario won't be implemented. Why temporary? If you don't need to send mails to this "temporary" group of categories regularly, you can use the described method to combine recipients of different categories quick and easy. If this is a regular task you can add another group or use the list feature of Thunderbird. (To generate a combined group: Go to the address book, filter by category, select all, submenu, add the selected contacts to a new group. Repeat this with every category you want to combine.)
Do you think this can be closed to clean up the issue list?
