Mopeka Custom Tanks Size Question

I have, a not so standard size anymore, 325-gal propane tank. Under the Mopeka addon this size is not listed. I can get readings via bluetooth and the mopeka sensor using 250,500, 1000-gal, but this does not give me the best accuracy on the fuel gauge. I am trying to use the "Custom" tank setting, but it does not seem to work. I do not get the fuel guage on the WebUI. I have the min_mm and max_mm set under the /etc/genmon/genmopke.conf file. The only error I get in the log's states "Invalid tank type: Custom: None: None." Other than setting "Custom" there is nowhere else I can see to set 325-gal.

Can anyone let me know if I'm missing something or a step? Again, I can get readings fine on any other size, just not the "Custom" setting.

Based on the log message it looks like you min and max values are not being read by the add on. Can you show the contents of your /etc/genmon/genmopeka.conf file?

Also, you message above shows the filename /etc/genmon/genmopke.conf instead of /etc/genmon/genmopeka.conf, I assume that is just a typo and this is not the name of the file.

Thanks yea end of the day typo. I did resolve the gauge issue, there was a decimal in my min_mm. Once I removed it the gauge appeared. But the gauge is still not displaying the level. It does work when selecting a size on the drop-down box. Maybe my min/max is wrong, I entered the minimum height of the propane level at 20% full and the maximum height of the propane level when full at 80% which is 260 gal. The levels came out to 7.8" and 22.2" which converted to 198mm and 564mm respectively.

poll_frequency = 120
tank_address = (mac of the mopeka sensor)
tank_type = Custom
min_mm = 198
max_mm = 564

Yes, in the genmon.log file the error is:

"Error in MyConfig:ReadValue: GenMon: tanksize: invalid literal for int() with base 10: ' ' : myconfig.py:110"

No errors in the genmopeka.logs

you should set the "Fuel Tank Size" parameter on the settings page to 325. This value must be an positive integer. A value of zero will disable some features and a value of nothing or a non integer will give the error you are seeing.

So I did add the 325 to the "Fuel Tank Size" under settings. Unfortunately, I still don't receive a reading via the gauge on the WebUI. I don't have any errors so my assumption is that my min_mm and max_mm are incorrect. What are those parameters looking for exactly? I thought it was the min height of the propane at 20% full and the max height of the propane when 80% full.

The mopeka sensor returns the a number that represents the number of millimeters the tank float is from the bottom. The min_mm is the lowest reading (zero %) and the max_mm is the highest reading (100% full). The add uses this to calculate the percentage of the given tank size.

I will qualify that this functionality (custom tank sizes) but I don't have any feedback from people using it in the field so I can not say that it has a lot of road use. If you want to enable debug and send your logs from the about page I can take a look.

I added on additional debug prints so if you update from the About page, enable debug logging, then restart, you can let it run for a min and send me your logs from the about page and that may give more details on what is going on.
