Doesn't seem to work with the VS Code VIM plugin

This might be more of a problem for the VS Code VIM plugin to solve, but it looks like the macro gets recorded with all of the keystrokes regardless of whether INSERT mode is on. I wasn't able to play back the macro, however, regardless of whether or not I was in INSERT mode.

It wasn't until after I disabled the VS Code VIM plugin that I was able to actually play back the macro and see that it had recorded all of the keystrokes across all modes.

This is a pretty awesome plugin - thanks for making it! :)

Oh yes, this is very possible. This plugin has to do some nasty hackery to record workspace changes.

I don't use VIM mode so this is not going to be a high priority for me to address. Happy to receive a PR with a test plan!
