bug: GUI, edits not permanent under most circumstances

Version: 0.7.5 (Linux, tried both the Flatpak and the AppImage)

Describe the Bug

Using the Jan GUI, edits to any previous prompt or LLM response in the chat window are not permanent.

When leaving the chat window (e.g., by switching to another chat or by closing the GUI) the edited text reverts to the previous state.

Sometimes, the edit will stick when editing the last prompt and then regenerating the response. But it is quite unpredictable for me under which conditions it works.

Expected behavior: Any edit would be saved permanently whenever pressing the "save" button of the edit dialog window. At the very least, the edit button should not be displayed in situations where it does not work.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Enter any prompt and wait for the reply.
2. Edit the prompt and/or the reply.
3. Click on, e.g., settings and then back to the chat.
4. The edit disappeared and the original text before the edit returns.
