Consent state and custom events

We configured the "iubenda Privacy Controls and Cookie Solution" tag in Google Tag Manager as described on the iubenda website.

We also have a custom event that triggers consent-dependent tags.

The problem is that that custom event is triggered before iubenda sets the actual consent state...

Here's a couple of screenshots of a debug GTM session:

Since (as per docs) we configured the iubenda tag to be triggered with "Consent Initialization - All Pages", we'd expect that the final Consent state should be set rather early but, as you can see, iubenda sets the final consent state at a very late stage, after our event is being triggered.

Since the tag iubenda Privacy Controls and Cookie Solution configures the consent state at a very late stage, I managed to fix all the consent-dependent tags with the following workarounds:

1. I added "emitGtmEvents": true to the CS Configuration of the iubenda Privacy Controls and Cookie Solution tag
2. I added a new Iubenda ready trigger that intercepts when Iubenda completes:
   • Trigger Type: Custom Event
   • Event Name: iubenda_gtm_consent_event
3. For all the tags that were triggered by All pages: I changed them so that their trigger is now Iubenda ready
4. In order to manage custom events (for example: custom event name OUR-CUSTOM-EVENT)
   1. I created a new trigger:
      • Name: OUR-CUSTOM-EVENT + Iubenda ready
      • Trigger Type: Trigger Group
      • Triggers:
        • OUR-CUSTOM-EVENT
        • Iubenda ready
   2. For all the tags that were triggered by OUR-CUSTOM-EVENT: I changed them so that their trigger is now OUR-CUSTOM-EVENT + Iubenda ready

This fixes the problem, but it's a rather cumbersome approach: it'd me much easier if the Iubenda tag could configure the consent in the initial "Consent Initialization" step...

I added the emitGtmEvents to the iubenda CS configuration in the GTM official Iubenda tag. But it doesn't launch the iubenda_gtm_consent_event
Tried with and withoud the "emitGtmEvents": true and the "googleConsentMode": "template" (is not clear to me, if I need to add this with the GTM gallery template or only with the manual template import) but the event didn't launch. Tested with the GTM preview/debug tool.

The website is in wordpress but I disabled the part of the plugin that add the Content Solution js.
