Reporting a Vulnerability

We take security vulnerabilities seriously. If you discover a security issue, please follow these steps:

  1. DO NOT open a public GitHub issue.

  2. Send a detailed report to [email protected] with:

    • Description of the vulnerability
    • Steps to reproduce
    • Potential impact
    • Suggested fix (if any)
  3. Response Time:

    • Initial response: Within 48 hours
    • Status update: Every 72 hours until resolution
    • Resolution timeline: Typically within 2 weeks
  4. What to Expect:

    • Acknowledgment of your report
    • Regular updates on the progress
    • Credit in the security advisory (unless you prefer to remain anonymous)
    • Notification when the fix is deployed

Security Best Practices

When using CyberScraper 2077:

  1. API Keys:

    • Store API keys in environment variables
    • Never commit API keys to version control
    • Rotate keys regularly
  2. Rate Limiting:

    • Respect the default rate limits
    • Adjust scraping delays based on target website requirements
    • Use the built-in retry mechanisms
  3. Proxy Usage (pending):

    • Use trusted proxy services
    • Rotate proxies for large-scale scraping
    • Monitor proxy health and reliability
  4. Data Handling:

    • Encrypt sensitive scraped data
    • Clean up temporary files
    • Follow data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

Security Updates

  • Security patches are released as soon as vulnerabilities are fixed
  • Updates are announced through GitHub releases
  • Critical updates are flagged in the documentation
  • Release notes include detailed security impact information

Responsible Disclosure

We follow responsible disclosure practices:

  1. Report the vulnerability privately
  2. Allow us time to fix the issue
  3. We'll acknowledge your contribution
  4. Public disclosure after the fix is deployed

Bug Bounty Program

Currently, we don't have a formal bug bounty program, but we do recognize and credit security researchers who report vulnerabilities responsibly.

Remember: In Night City, security isn't just a feature – it's a way of life. Stay safe, choombas.
