No notification when no system tray icon

When "System Tray" is set to "No icon", no notification is shown. Is this by design?

If you mean hint/ttoltip than yes it is by design because we do not have possibility to detect where to show it. OSD should be shown.

I mean Windows notification that is shown on buttom right corner of the screen. Even command line apps can invoke that, I think.

What settings do you have in Volume2? Can you send Config.ini or screenshots?

In the following settings, if Shift+Ctrl+N is pressed and "No icon" is selected, no notification is shown. If "Device icon" is selected, notification is shown then.
