Multiple accounts on same email

I got the following message from incliques which means I did have an account with that email address.

Hi ,
Edit my name has added you to their Team inClique Clique.
They have shared these details with other members of the Team inClique Clique:

But then I was able to make another account with the same email address. I tried to make yet another one but it gave me an error. I had already had an account on inclique but was able to create another one or at least got an email to confirm the account. It didn't however let me log in with the new pwd and my account was still working with the old pwd.
Since my old account was created when we first started, perhaps it was just a legacy issue which doesn't affect new accounts.
