I'm trying to compare the carbon footprint of different software (or different versions of the same software) running on a Raspberry Pi over time. This would help me make informed decisions about software choices and understand the impact of software development on energy consumption. I'd like to back up my gut feelings with quantitative data!
Scaphandre seems like a great tool for this, but I realized it relies on RAPL, which isn't available on ARM devices.
Has any thought been given to supporting external power meters in Scaphandre? This would make it usable on a much wider range of hardware, including Raspberry Pi.
Are there any known blockers or challenges to this idea?
Is this something that has already been considered or might be considered ?
If there's anything I can do to help explore this (testing, providing information about my setup, etc.), please let me know!
