I would suggest W-A-S-D.

The button in the bottom left corner doesn't allow users to fine tune the position very well.

Thanks, this is a good suggestion.

Note that there are small + and - buttons below each coordinate field though. Your proposal is still a good idea, just wanted to point this out.
