As a courtesy to the maintainers of the project, and because it came as a surprise to me as well, the entire .io top level domain looks like it's going away. It's possible that some proposal will come along to create a new TLD in its place to avoid the ensuing chaos, but it's also possible that it simply vanishes. This is all rooted in the history of the domain as a geopolitical entity that the British government is dissolving.

This is obviously an issue for everything hosted at the gohugo.io domain and all references to it, so getting a head start on mitigation would seem wise.
