Gitkraken Gitlens does not work in Theia

Theia 1.55.0
Installed the Gitkraken Gitlens plugin. It does not work. Does not allow me to sign in (to enable the Gitlens Pro features I have bought), and doesn't seem to do anything useful at all. The sign in link in the extension page does not do anything at all.

There is another issue about this. However, that is in triage since 2021, so I guess that issue is not current any more.

Another thing is that I don't see how I can get back to the initial Gitlens extension page once I am somewhere else in the extension. There is no back button in that area.
