New Windows 11 update has disabled ability to change the TTS voice - stuck with Microsoft David

Windows 11 updated recently and now the TTS voice is stuck on Microsoft David

I have tried changing the voice back to my favourite (Microsoft George) but it always reads as 'David'. I have also rolled back the update - to the version which was previously working - but the bug persists.

I am unable to change the voice to anything else but 'Microsoft David'

I tried renaming the 'George' system files to 'David' located in C:\Windows\Speech_OneCore\Engines\TTS\en-US. However this produced the unexpected result of the correct voice sound, but incoherent words - like the alphabet is mixed up
