Note this ticket is for the making known of a work in progress and for tracking my work. I'm the one implementing it.

There is no branch where this work can be found yet. But I am going to provide a link to the branch after some time.

PRs are expected to be created after one month. The details of class hierarchy will be in a corresponding PR.

Desired behavior

Provide atmosphere visuals using Ogre3 engine.

Ogre3 provides AtmosphereNpr component.

Current status

There are some bugs at the time (purple sky can be seen momentarily in the video below). And some may say visuals are not realistic enough. But the atmosphere type (currently only AtmosphereNpr is supported) and its parameters can be changed (in runtime) to provide a more realistic look.

Progress

Updated on 09.02.25

  • Integrate finding Ogre-Next 3.x.x via cmake into the gz-cmake library (PR)
  • Create gz-rendering-ogre3 plugin in the gz-rendering library (In progress)
