gatsby build fubars background image inline svg

I have this happening after upgrading to v4, with this css (stylus):

Resulting in in (with gatsby develop) ("Fonts" is text, not part of the svg):

But when using gatsby build it is converted to:

background-image: url("data:image/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2000/svg' stroke-width='1.5' viewBox='0 0 32 32'%3E%3Cg fill='none' stroke='%23331e11' stroke-linecap='square' stroke-miterlimit='10'%3E%3Cpath d='m22.1 11.1 4.757-3.6h.643v18' data-color='color-2'/%3E%3C/g%3E%3C/svg%3E");

Resulting in:

Basically removing an entire path element. What gives? Is it svgo that ruins this? This does not happen in gatsby develop.

This happens for some icons, not all, and I can't find the common denominator :(
