The python3-venv package doesn't exist on some systems (such as RHEL). Maybe mention that in the guide?

mm, it is a good point. We only taught on Debian derivatives until now. I have a suspicion there are a few other things that will not work as well.

we have a comment on it, but we definitely don't have an extensive list anywhere that we could add easily. I'm not sure anyone has that list readily.

I've been going through the tutorial and setting up Galaxy (2nd time now) for my university. I could list different things in some parts of the tutorial. (We use Rocky Linux)

if you have time/energy for that documentation would of course be very, very welcome!

As far as I've seen, there have only been some minor changes. I'll note them down when I go through the tutorial again and open PRs on it when I have time.
