Selectbox Component with Cursor Pagination

Hi everyone.
I’m working with a select box and I’m running into an issue. Currently, the API returns quite a lot of data (around 1,000 records). I want to handle this using cursor pagination. That means the first request will return limit=20 (20 records), and when the user scrolls to the end, I’ll take the nextCursor from the API and send another request with limit=20 plus the parameter nextCursor=xxxx.
I’m not sure whether this approach is feasible. If there’s a better solution for Formio, please suggest an appropriate approach. Thank you, everyone.

This would be a feature request to implement this functionality out of the box. There might be a way to do it where you store the nextCursor in a hidden component and perhaps use a datasource to fetch instead of a select and then use the datasource to provide values for the select. I'm not sure how the "fetch next page" on scroll would be implemented though.

I wonder... it seems like 1,000 records is a lot of items to scroll through. Does the API support partial string match search query params? i.e. https://myapi.com/users/search?q=Bri that would return ["Brian", "Brianna", ...]
