[High CPU usage after switching Git branch] #297

Describe the bug
If an user switches to another Git branch the Solution Explorer gets into a state of infinite "loading"

Leading to a significant increase in CPU usage.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Go to 'Source control checkout, box (bottom left corner on VS Code)'
Select Another git branch of your choice in your repository
Wait for the branch to load
See the Solution Explorer as it gets stuck into the loading phase.

Expected behavior
The Solution Explorer should load everything fast as it does when opening a solution.
