PS: I don't intend to make money off the game itself, I'd like to keep that open-source. However, to fund development I'm thinking of something like this produce income:

  • Online platform where users upload their mods
  • Hosting the mod content costs whatever it costs to host + a margin to fund development
  • Users can also link off-site to their own hosting, if they really don't want to fund
