Simplify two-fer tests _a bit_

We don't need a test with 2 arguments, so remove "mary ann". Actually, the entire "john smith" test should be removed, I don't think it's adding much value. The "* " test accomplishes demonstrating both word splitting and filename expansion

But the extra tests do need some explaining in an append instruction.
