I'm not much of an expert here. I'm assuming we should be minimizing any files we can. We're also hosting images and fonts ourselves, I'm not sure if it'd be faster to use a CDN? Are there downsides?

Would love to hear the various strategies that people employ.

it would be good to have an AWS account with free tier enabled to store images and fonts in S3 buckets. AFAIK, aws or other cloud services has free credits to open source projects.
