Describe the bug
When I click on "Delete Pad" (v2.2.6), I get this message: "[16:34:47]: You are not the creator of this pad, so you cannot delete it"

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a new pad
  2. Click on Delete Pad
  3. See error "You are not the creator of this pad, so you cannot delete it"

Expected behavior
I should be able to remove a pad I've created

Server (please complete the following information):

  • Etherpad version: 2.2.6
  • OS: Debian bullseye
  • Node.js version (node --version): v21.7.3
  • npm version (npm --version): 10.5.0
  • Is the server free of plugins:

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Arch
  • Browser [e.g. chrome, safari]: Firefox
  • Version [e.g. 22]: latest

I can confirm this issue.

Our server configuration:

  • Etherpad version: 2.2.6
  • OS: Ubuntu 24.04.1 noble
  • Node.js version: v18.19.1
  • npm version: 9.2.0

I think if you clear cookies and cache from our browser, you are no longer known as the creator and you need to go to admin to clear it.

Could you please create a reproducible example on https://yopad.eu @meaz ? It works there.

I can not reproduce it on https://yopad.eu/ only on https://pad.disroot.org
How does etherpad recognize that an user is the creator of a pad? I mean when there is no login option.
