I contribute to AtomVM, which allows running Erlang, Elixir and Gleam language applications on ESP32 family chips, WASM, and other microcontrollers. We do extensive CI testing for all platforms and would like to test builds for esp32p4 and esp32c6 chips using QEMU.

I would like to know if support for testing esp32p4 and esp32c6 on QEMU is planned, and if there is any release where that might be expected to be available.

@UncleGrumpy I think we will get to C6 support at some point, but definitely not in the upcoming quarter. I'll update this issue when there is a concrete plan to start working on C6.

I think it makes sense to do P4 as well, just C6 will probably have priority due to more projects based on it in production right now.

Indeed. Thank you for creating that amazing tool! We do run some tests on wokwi, but for most of our core library tests that do not rely on peripherals or networking we run an extensive test suite on qemu under valgrind to catch any memory leaks, and to make sure that we did not miss any subtle differences between esp32 chips that could lead to broken functionality.
