Instructions for compiling the Macintosh version of aaline (written by
a Unix hacker who can just barely get a program to run on a Mac).
This program was tested using Metrowerks CodeWarrior 9. Other compilers
may need slightly different methods. The program has been tested on a
Macintosh Performa 630CD, which has a 640 x 480 screen and offers both
8-bit and 16-bit color. Hopefully it will still run on other machines.
1) Create a project (File->New Project) using MacOS C for the Project
Stationery. Name it something like aaline.<mu> (the mu character
is created by holding down the option key and pressing "m"). Be
sure that you use 4-byte integers (4i) and not 2-byte (2i), which
will not work right for this code.
2) Create a window resource using ResEdit
File->New aaline.rsrc
Resource->Create New Resource WIND
Change the following four fields:
Top: 0
Height: 480
Left: 0
Width: 640
3) Add all of the C files to the Sources list except the Unix and Windows
files (duh!). Add the new resource file to the Resources list.
4) Edit->Preferences and set the preferred heap size (Project, 68K/PPC
Project) to at least 3000 so that the frame buffer array can be allocated.
5) Compile and run.
6) Click the mouse to exit the program.
