Few problems for a new user #250

What Happened?
Hi,
Having a few problems setting up a new install of Elementary OS. Apologies if this is in the wrong place as there wasn't an option for the Web browser in the Feedback app.
Firstly, I can't seem to change the default apps. I've installed Zen, Vivaldi, Thunderbird and VLC but none of them appear when I try to change the default apps in the settings.
Secondly, the default web browser (Epiphany?) will not save sites as Web Apps. I select the menu option and nothing happens.
Running the latest version of Elementary OS, tried rebooting several times.
