Reading circuit component properties and run time electrical characteristics programatically

I am in need of interfacing with the circuits in a programatic fashion where no use of GUI should be required. I need direction as to what I should do in detail to reach such a goal. The final result would be obtaining run time data about the circuit and using this data on my own program by creating some connection for data flow.
