question: historic mosmix forecast data available?

is it at all possible to get historic mosmix forecasts (e.g. for the year 2021)?

Dear @Mar-ai ,

unfortunately at this moment it is not possible to get historized mosmix. I believe it also generally is not the intention to get it historized on side of DWD because they produce so many runs that it would only cost lost of space.

We also don't currently have anything running on our side that would backup mosmix somewhere else, however you may ask @meteoDaniel @marvingabler if they could kindly provide you with a dump as I believe they probably have historized Mosmix. Marvin, Daniel, do you currently have historized mosmix in your data stack?

Hey @Mar-ai , unfortunately we also don't store Mosmix as of now. Who might give you data access is a research group working on Energy Forecasts at Fraunhofer, I know that at least they are persisting some parts of DWDs forecasts, might be that you are successfull there

We are storing some historical weather forecast data. But not the mos-mix. I know that Mr. Finkenrath from the University of Applied Science Kempten is storing this data. But I do not know if they do this for a single location or for the whole dataset.

The Fraunhofer is asking for +4000€ for a data retrieval. I do not know if they share them for free for research purpose. But for research purpose you can ask to get access to https://www.dwd.de/DE/leistungen/pamore/pamore.html . Nearly 2 years of historical weather predictions available. But this access is limited for research and it cost ~300€ provision fee. And the mos-mix is not available there, too.

Please let me know if you can find someone sharing the MOS-MIX data. I am really interested in it.

I can provide historical MOSMIX forecast data for most weather stations. However, @meteostat only stores the latest forecast.
