But there are many situations where drones cannot be used.
e.g:

1. it's illegal in crowded area and in many countries. 🙅
2. way too noisy 🙉
3. indoors or any other tight space 🏡
4. drone battery only lasts ~25mins so not good for timelapse. ⏳
5. at night!! 🌃

Wire/Cable Cams can side-step all these issues!

1. they can be used virtually anywhere for smooth linear shots 🧈
2. operate near-silently 🤫
3. only limitation is the size of the camera 📷

Note: this review is balanced because he cautions that the batteries discharge in the case and motor died on him.

I think there are many shots we can get with this we simply cannot get with a Drone!
Unless we have an extremely competent (FPV) Drone Pilot, but even then drones are hella noisy!

Ordered this last night: 💸 😬 (again, would muuuuuuch rather have a rich relative to borrow it from!!)

Note: my reasoning is simple: if I get one shot with this and it's worth $100 to the production/video,
we can sell it on for $300 (small loss but will sell fast because these are rare on ebay!) and we're Gucci.

I intend to setup cable mounting points around our garden/workshop in Braga to run Timelapse tests for B-Roll. 🅱️
I think it would be sick as quiet "fly-over" shots for weddings in Landim. 👰
Or if Brides/Grooms aren't keen we can at least use it to motion lapses of the wedding prep/setup as B-Roll for a venue promo video. 🎬

This looks awesome! Never tried using this but the fly-over shots are golden!
Bea and Leonor are doing a party in Landim for their birthday in exactly one month, so that looks like an excellent way of testing the waters :D

I ordered mine on AliExpress too, but they were battery cells, big chunky rectangular ones with only a pair of pins, made to create battery packs. They weren't small cells like these ones, unfortunately.
