Replace Microwave 👩‍🍳💭

We have two microwaves @home:

They are identical, except that one broke (and was repaired but never fully functional again) so in reality we only have one. This has recently come into focus when reheating food with 7 people in the house. 🏡
If we’re going to have 20 people we need at least 2 functioning microwaves.
We’ve tried going down the repair route before but not got it working. So I propose buying a new one. ☝️

The available dimensions are:

Depth including rear cooling space: 350mm
Width: 560
Height: 280

We will probably just get another LG.
And it’s tricky to buy them online because measurements re inconsistent.

Or can I he’s to Radio Popular with tape measure and get one that fits and is high quality but still within budget?

I stopped by MediaMarkt on my way back from Leroy and they didn’t have the same model, only a more high-end model that I think is too big … (didn’t have tape measure on me but think it’s safest to just head to RP)

Sadly, the Amazon market seller for the €123 microwave called me on my phone and said they no longer have stock!!
So, sadly we're back to square one! 🤦
@iteles could you please contact the chap who "fixed" our original microwave and see if he has availability to do it properly this time? can be Jan/Feb and we're happy to pay €60 as long as it works and doesn't break after a week!!

The one that was fixed is the one that broke down again within a couple of weeks so sadly, not much faith that'll work. I'll have a look around.

@iteles yeah, also not got lots of hope that it will be fixed ... 😕
But it would be better from an environmental perspective to repair our existing one rather than recycle it. 💭

We have another option, which is cutting out the back panel of the cupboard to get more depth space ... ✂️
I can show you what I mean next time we're both in the kitchen. 👌

Official LG microwave fixers, closest ones are in Leça da Palmeira in Porto.

Sadly only open during the week or we'd drop it off on the weekend when we go to visit 🙃

Also, surely they can see from the serial number that the product was manufactured less than 10 years ago ⏳
ergo, 10 year warranty still applies. 💭

The microwave was taken in over Christmas.

I gave them the go-ahead for the repair 8 days ago, on the 9th Jan 25. Now we wait and pay upon pickup.
