I don't know whether this has been mentioned before, nor how easy it
would be to implement.
solve-field reports many useful pieces of information, including the
plate scale, the field rotation and the plate centre. Something it does
not report is the estimated precision of those quantities. It seems to
me that it could report at least some of them, because it has catalogued
positions and can compute observed positions from the centroids and the WCS.
Even just an estimate of the errors in RA and Dec would be very helpful,
I believe, though scale and rotation error estimates would also be good.
Does this sound like a reasonable enhancement?
