WMC-V8.8.5 from MyDigitalLife
Please withhold any hate for still using an unsupported application, whilst it is old Windows Media Center is still a great option for watching Live TV and video content.
HDHomerun tuners have worked with WMC since many many years ago so technically the HDHRProxyIPTV should work with WMC so I can inject IPTV channels in.. or so I thought.
There is only little information about how to correctly use HDHRProxyIPTV so I've done some guessing for some parts.
Ran HDHRProxyIPTV, started the application and did a lineup.
Installed HDHomeRun software (in order to create the virtual tuners that can then be seen in WMC).
In the HDHomeRun software it detects the HDHRProxyIPTV Tuner correctly and I can successfully scan the channel I've made in my lineup.
Opened WMC, gone to setup, live tv setup and worked through the prompts. WMC found the HDHomeRun virtual tuner that is linked to the HDHRProxyIPTV which is great. I hit scan for channels and in the HDHRProxyIPTV window you can see WMC is scanning for channels, it eventually hits the frequency which I have set to an IPTV stream and it appears to work however WMC doesn't add the channel and scanning progresses till it finds no new channels at all.
The HDHRProxyIPTV log shows:
2021/12/25 22:04:29 ## DEBUG 3 TRANSPORT :: [Tuner 0] Closing Stream Socket because several timeouts.
2021/12/25 22:04:29 ## DEBUG 5 TRANSPORT :: [Tuner 0] Received from TCP Socket: 103 bytes. (Read Buffer size: 00103).
However the IPTV stream is successfully able to be played by VLC for example and works fine. For reference I am using the software ErsatzTV to run an IPTV stream.
I must be missing something here with why it isn't working.. Any suggestions/help please?
