Can Serena self-host?

No, but it might be needed in the future…

Describe the solution you'd like
Self-hosting is the ability of a given OS to compile itself with it's own provided tools. If possible with the internal development tools, Serena could compile it's own source code and produce a bootable binary of itself.

Serena can't self host at this time. It's one of the features planned for the future. Though it'll still take a while to get there. The system API as it exists today is an early draft and will still undergo more changes before it's ready to be released in a SDK.
