Take over HsYAML and HsYAML-aeson ?

Dear dhall maintainers,

HsYAML(-aeson) does not have any users on Stackage (https://www.stackage.org/nightly-2025-08-30/package/HsYAML-0.2.1.5), but dhall-yaml depends on it.

I have been maintaining HsYAML for a couple of years but I am not using it, so I should/want not maintain it.
Do you wish to take over the HsYAML and HsYAML-aeson packages?

I could help maintain it, but it looks like there is a license conflict (dhall is not GPL). @Gabriella439 could switching to the yaml package be an option, e.g. can it be statically linked and do we need it in the web build?

Oops, dhall-yaml is in fact released as GPL, so there is no license conflict.

I added you to Hackage and invited you as maintainer to the repos, and also opened a PR to transfer Stackage maintainership:

What I deem important in maintaining is (basics):

• keep packages in Stackage nightly
• tag each release in the repo (see existing tags for examples)
• have a changelog for each release
• keep CI up to date
